Bedford Municipal Court Divorce Records
Both divorce and dissolution actions seek to terminate a marriage contract, but neither is heard by judges of the Bedford Municipal Court. Such actions, rather, fall under the exclusive subject-matter jurisdiction of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division (formally called the Cuyahoga County Court Domestic Relations Court).
The Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts serves as the designated recordkeeper of all divorce and dissolution case files. Individuals requiring records of a marriage termination case—which are open to the public under the Supreme Court of Ohio Rules of Superintendence—can access the Clerk's online Case Records Search system to search court dockets by name or case. They can also visit the Justice Center in Cleveland to inspect original marriage termination files or request hard copies.
Pursuant to the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts Fee Schedule, the following charges apply for document reproduction services:
- Uncertified copies (under 33 pages): Free
- Uncertified copies (over 33 pages): 3 cents per page
- Certification: $1 per page
- Exemplification (triple seal or authentication): $1 per page
